Sadeek...

BELOW LEFT: Rugby Creek Animal Rescue graciously took in this horse and saved his life. Once stable, he was moved to Amethyst Acres on August 19, 2009, where he is being fostered during his rehabilitation. RIGHT: Photo taken the day after arrival. Sadeek is about a body score of "2" on a scale of 1-10. He is very unstable and can only graze for a few supervised minutes each day as he regains his strength.

BELOW LEFT: September 9th. We have started Sadeek on Southern States Triple Crown Senior and are pleased that they are helping with his recovery. Nolvasan baths are helping kill the fungus on his body, another result of months of neglect. RIGHT: September 16th. Sadeek is up to about 810 lbs. The rain rot all over his body is slowly coming off and he enjoys his daily brushings. He is up to 4 feedings each day and nickers when he hears the feed bucket coming. Special thanks to Jean & Skip Skipper for donating bags of feed.

BELOW: September 23rd. It is hard to see a big difference when you see him every day, but each week when I take this photo, I see improvement. Thanks to Jacque Battle of Blue Ridge Dream Farm for donating bags of feed. RIGHT: October 9th: As the rain rot goes away, his hair coat gets whiter and softer. The muscles in his rear continue to strengthen and he enjoys an occasional trot in his paddock!!
