2010 Mia Moniet Colt....

Congratulations to Jean & Skip Skipper of Callaway on the birth of this handsome colt by Pimlico RCA, out of their beautiful Infidel daughter Mia Moniet RCA.

Mia was supposed to wait until we all returned from the Egyptian Event to foal, but decided instead to test my sister Pat's "birthing skills" just hours after the Vet reassured her it was going to be at least a week...so much for predicting!!

Mom is a maiden mare and is doing great in her new role...and the Skippers could not be more proud of both mom and son!!

Thanks Pat, JoAnn, Brooke & Tracy for helping get this colt off to a good start!!

ABOVE: Mark, Deb, Skip & Jean left the Kentucky Horse Park at 9:30 p.m. and arrived back at Amethyst Acres at 3:30 a.m. to help Mia figure out the whole nursing thing.

BELOW: First day out at age 2 days..."Sonny" has no fear of anything...humans, water, nothing! One of his first actions was to lie down in a rainwater puddle. And look at those coordinated scratching moves!!
